Two-Fer Wednesday: Langhorne Slim and Mark Oliver Everett
First off, you all know that I don't often post things like new music videos and crap, but this is something special. This video for Langhorne Slim's wonderful tune, "Restless" is pretty great, but what makes it truly magical is the tune itself. Langhorne's voice is something interesting at first, but the more you listen, the more endearing it becomes, until you just want to listen to it again and again. Here's the video:And here's some tunes:
"Restless" Langhorne Slim (from his self-titled album)
"Restless" Langhorne Slim (earlier version from "The Engine EP")
"Sweet Olive Tree" Langhorne Slim
In completely unrelated news, Mark Oliver Everett aka E of the band The Eels is releasing a book, "Things the Grandchildren Should Know". If you were unaware, apparently E's father was nucking futs, and I guess his fascination with quantum physics meant that he wasn't really around that much when E was growing up, which probably lead to some interesting stories. The book is out on October 14th here in the States. Go preorder it at Amazon. Here's the absolutely crazy promo clip for the book:
And the first Eels song I ever heard:
"Last Stop This Town" The Eels
I actually saw the video first, and here's that video:
Labels: Eels, Langhorne Slim
