"Far More" The Honorary Title
Yet another reason why Daytrotter is one of the best websites around today. This track, from The Honorary Title's visit to Rock Island, IL, showcases how different and wonderful the energy in that studio can be. With the vintage instruments and vintage recording equipment, the tone of most of the sessions is warmer and more intimate than you can get anywhere else. After I heard this particular track from their album, "Scream and Light Up The Sky", I hunted around the Hype Machine for some more of this wonderful sound. What I came up with, however, did not fit my expectations. With more polish, the band lost the closeness and comfort that they had at Daytrotter. They distanced themselves and, to be perfectly honest, the recorded stuff made them sound terrible. I had no idea that they would be more at home on a bill with Taking Back Sunday than someone awesome like The Broken West or Spoon. I was disappointed, that's for sure, so rather than falling in love with a band that had knocked my socks off that Thursday morning just before my 25th Birthday, I fell in love with a single song that is topping my list of songs this year. The Honorary Title on Daytrotter.com

Hello-
I have been searching around looking at what people have been saying about bands we have opened for in teh past. I play with a band out of Michigan and I was wondering if you would like to check us out.
We have played with HT a few times and though we do not share the same sound we do have some the same features with vintage instuments, recording equipment, and folk style. Anyway if you are interested please hit me up at happyhourmusic@yahoo.com
I can send you a cd or send you a link if you would like to check us out. Thank you for your time.
