XXX-Mas Week Day Six: Wrapup and Everything That Didn't Fit

Well, tonight brings a close to XXX-Mas Week here at ThaBombShelter, and I just wanted to share some other great tracks that didn't quite fit in with the other days this week.

The first track is a great mexicali riff from Guster, "Donde Esta Santa Claus." It's just a fun track with great use of the word, "Mamacita"...and sleigh bells.

Next we've got "Rudy" by The Be Good Tanyas. It's a heartbreaking tale of a homeless wino and contains the great line, "God bless ye merry gentlemen/who found it in your hearts to flip Rudy a fin."

Then theres the breathtaking version of "Greensleeves" by Vanessa Carlton. I know, I know, she's not really ThaBombShelter material, but that's what makes these Christmas songs so great, amazing songs by musicians you wouldn't normally listen to, all in the name of XXX-Mas.

Finally, I'll share a great take on "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" by Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan. I think Sarah's got an amazing voice, so that's good, but to be honest I kind of hate BNL, but together, this song is right up there on my Desert Island Top Five Christmas Songs.
